Concept for news feed
Yandex.Zen is a very popular blogging platform and media aggregator in Russia. When this concept was created, it did not have social functionality and options to follow particular topics. I focused on creating a concept of Yandex.Zen that would allow more social interaction and subscriptions to the topics you are most interested in. I created my own UI using Druk Cy font on top of the company’s own YS Text and custom colours and icons.
Subscriptions by interests
Back in 2018, Yandex.Zen did not have such functionality. You could not subscribe to particular topics. I suggested options to subscribe to some interests, not only particular channels.
New media formats
Yandex.Zen was aiming for becoming not only publishing, but communication platform. I suggested new formats for the feed and introduced comments presented directly in the feed.
